Artist's Description

This part of the Mesquite Trail lies along a fault line and sits lower than the surrounding area. It is always at least 10 degrees colder here in the morning, though it rarely drops below freezing in the desert near Palm Springs. So, I was captivated when I happened upon the frosted willows and alkali brush along the path nestled up against the hill. A glowing golden cottonwood rises like a beacon beckoning me farther along the trail. A California scrub jay poses on an old fence post.

Thank you for finding my work! The subjects I choose to paint are frequently inspired by nature and imagining my place in the universe. I have a fondness for the ease of acrylics, but also work with colored pencils, watercolor, oils, and just about any medium I can get my hands on (I think I might be a hoarder of art supplies). Born in Southern California, raised in the mountains of Northern Utah, I have lived much of my adult life in the desert solitude near Palm Springs (with a brief 2-year fling in the tropics of Hawaii). I have enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and lush environment of all these areas. As an avid hiker and camper, I find the deserts, mountains and ocean beaches to be some of my favorite places.
