In the golden light of morning, a deer forages in the brush beneath purple mountains.
Almost daily, I encounter deer on my morning hike through the local wildlife preserve. I wanted this image to reflect the watery feel of hazy morning light, the stillness before most creatures awaken, the lemonade sky. You can almost hear the soft rush of grass as the deer grazes, slipping slowly through the brush.

Thank you for finding my work! The subjects I choose to paint are frequently inspired by nature and imagining my place in the universe. I have a fondness for the ease of acrylics, but also work with colored pencils, watercolor, oils, and just about any medium I can get my hands on (I think I might be a hoarder of art supplies). Born in Southern California, raised in the mountains of Northern Utah, I have lived much of my adult life in the desert solitude near Palm Springs (with a brief 2-year fling in the tropics of Hawaii). I have enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and lush environment of all these areas. As an avid hiker and camper, I find the deserts, mountains and ocean beaches to be some of my favorite places.
