Description
Moon Lily, also known as jimsonweed, datura, and devil’s trumpet is a poisonous flowering plant in the nightshade family. The hallucinogen has been used in some Native American rituals to induce visions. What do you see?
At first, I painted the flowers and one ladybug without the spirit behind it. But I really wanted it to convey the mystical context of the plant. I started with the eye, but still felt it needed more connection to the whole. The emerging ladybugs from her fingertips seemed to tie it all together.
