Description
The air swirled with horizontal snow that morning as we left the South Rim, and we wondered if we would end up in a tragic news clip about ill-prepared hikers. But as we descended the switchbacks, the air warmed and the clouds lifted revealing this view of the Grand Canyon bathed in the dramatic light of a spring storm. The stunning scene was transitory, but still I hoped to capture the feel of the moment.
