One of the many blossoms that graced the desert this spring. This pink beauty is called the Arizona Lupine, but it grows abundantly in Southern California, often by itself, away from other plants where it can spread out. But it also turns up in the sandy soil next to highways.
Thank you for finding my work! The subjects I choose to paint are frequently inspired by nature and imagining my place in the universe. I have a fondness for the ease of acrylics, but also work with colored pencils, watercolor, oils, and just about any medium I can get my hands on (I think I might be a hoarder of art supplies). Born in Southern California, raised in the mountains of Northern Utah, I have lived much of my adult life in the desert solitude near Palm Springs (with a brief 2-year fling in the tropics of Hawaii). I have enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and lush environment of all these areas. As an avid hiker and camper, I find the deserts, mountains and ocean beaches to be some of my favorite places.
