A morning thunderstorm over Lake Powell. This is a digitally merged panorama of the three panels.
I painted this from some photos my parents took. They had taken their boat to Lake Powell for their anniversary and parked it under a cliff. Overnight, a storm came up. The downpour sent a waterfall from the cliff directly into the boat. They heard rocks hitting the boat as they rushed to move the boat as it filled with water. Luckily, they survived and the next morning, they took this panorama from a hill as their belongings dried in an adjacent cove.

Thank you for finding my work! The subjects I choose to paint are frequently inspired by nature and imagining my place in the universe. I have a fondness for the ease of acrylics, but also work with colored pencils, watercolor, oils, and just about any medium I can get my hands on (I think I might be a hoarder of art supplies). Born in Southern California, raised in the mountains of Northern Utah, I have lived much of my adult life in the desert solitude near Palm Springs (with a brief 2-year fling in the tropics of Hawaii). I have enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and lush environment of all these areas. As an avid hiker and camper, I find the deserts, mountains and ocean beaches to be some of my favorite places.
