Rain is a precious gift in this desert oasis. On the morning after a storm, I arrived to open the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve. Growing sunlight gently touched the edges of the remaining clouds, splashing them in gold and orange and painting the earth in muted colors. A deer wandered through the Alkali Golden Bush, seemingly as mesmerized by the miracle as I.
Thank you for finding my work! The subjects I choose to paint are frequently inspired by nature and imagining my place in the universe. I have a fondness for the ease of acrylics, but also work with colored pencils, watercolor, oils, and just about any medium I can get my hands on (I think I might be a hoarder of art supplies). Born in Southern California, raised in the mountains of Northern Utah, I have lived much of my adult life in the desert solitude near Palm Springs (with a brief 2-year fling in the tropics of Hawaii). I have enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and lush environment of all these areas. As an avid hiker and camper, I find the deserts, mountains and ocean beaches to be some of my favorite places.
