Description
A female figure is wrapped in on herself, seemingly unaware of the blazing sunflowers and iridescent Blue Morpho butterflies. Sometimes a grouping of unrelated images jars our senses, forces us to find meaning. Are the flowers and butterflies the face she shows to the world while struggling inside? Would the female figure appear more natural set in a dark room? She is surrounded by butterflies. Only the males of Blue Morpho butterflies are blue. Does that change the meaning or feeling of the painting? Will she emerge and shift to follow the sun like sunflowers or stay wrapped in her own darkness?
